Getting Started

Getting Started

What ages does Broadway Arts Studio serve?

Broadway Arts Studio offers performing arts programs for students ages 3–18, with classes and opportunities designed for a wide range of ages, experience levels, and goals.

Does my child need previous experience?

Not at all. We welcome complete beginners, experienced performers, and everyone in between. Classes are organized by age, level, and experience so students can learn in an environment that supports their current abilities.

How do I know which class is right for my child?

Start by browsing classes based on your student’s age and interests. Our team can also provide a personal recommendation based on their experience, goals, personality, and availability.

Can my child try a class before enrolling?

Trial classes may be available for eligible ongoing classes with open space. Create a Parent Portal account to view available classes and trial options for your student.

How do I view the current class schedule?

Create or log in to your Parent Portal account and select Register for Classes. You’ll be able to view the most up-to-date classes for which your student is age-eligible without committing to enrollment.

How do I register?

Registration is completed through the Parent Portal. Create a parent profile, add your student, and select the class or program you would like to join.

Can students join classes after the season has started?

Many ongoing classes offer year-round enrollment when space is available. Some performance-based, auditioned, or seasonal programs may have specific registration periods or participation deadlines.

What happens if a class is full?

Space is limited in many of our classes. When available, you may be able to join a waitlist or work with our team to find another class that fits your student’s age, level, and schedule.

Classes & Training

Classes & Training

What types of classes do you offer?

Our programming includes dance, singing, acting, musical theatre, and performance opportunities.

Dance styles may include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, pom, acro, and musical theatre jazz. Offerings vary by age, level, and season.

Are classes recreational or competitive?

We offer both.

Students may participate in ongoing, noncompetitive classes for enjoyment and skill development. Those seeking a greater commitment can pursue audition-based programs such as Broadway Dance Company and the Musical Theatre Conservatory.

How are class levels determined?

Placement is based on factors such as age, prior experience, technical readiness, maturity, and the pace of the class. Age ranges provide a starting point, but they do not always guarantee placement at a particular level.

Can my child take classes in more than one area?

Yes. Many students combine dance, voice, acting, and musical theatre classes to become more versatile performers.

Students interested in significant growth are encouraged to train consistently across multiple classes and disciplines.

How many classes should my student take each week?

That depends on their goals.

One or two weekly classes can be a great way to explore an interest or enjoy the performing arts as a hobby. Students pursuing faster technical growth, advanced programs, or competitive opportunities will generally benefit from training more frequently.

Are private lessons available?

Yes. Private coaching may be available in voice, acting, dance, audition preparation, college prescreens, and performing arts school submissions. Availability varies by instructor and season.

What should students wear to class?

Dress code requirements vary by class and discipline. Students should arrive in the required clothing, shoes, and hairstyle so they can move safely and receive proper technical instruction.

Please review the studio’s Dress Code page before attending class.

Can parents watch classes?

To help students remain focused and allow teachers to maintain a productive class environment, regular classroom observation may be limited. Families will have opportunities to see their students perform through showcases, recitals, demonstrations, or other scheduled events.

Who teaches the classes?

Our faculty includes experienced performing artists, educators, directors, choreographers, and coaches with backgrounds in areas such as Broadway, theatre, television, film, voice-over, commercial dance, competitive dance, and education.

Teachers are required to complete background checks and studio training.

Visit our Team page to learn more.

Attendance & Makeups

Attendance & Makeups

What should I do if my child will miss class?

Please log the absence in the Parent Portal as early as possible, especially for planned vacations or known conflicts.

Are missed classes refunded or credited?

No. Tuition reserves your student’s place in the class and is billed monthly regardless of attendance. Refunds or tuition credits are not issued for missed classes.

Can my child make up a missed class?

As a courtesy, currently enrolled students may be able to attend an eligible makeup class within 60 days of the absence.

The makeup class must:

  • Be appropriate for the student’s age and level

  • Have space available

  • Be open for registration

  • Be scheduled while the student remains enrolled

Makeup policies are subject to change. Broadway Arts Studio currently asks families to request a makeup at least 48 hours in advance.

What happens to unused makeups if we drop the class?

Unused absences and makeup eligibility are lost when a student fully withdraws from the class.

Tuition & Payments

Tuition & Payments

How is tuition billed?

Ongoing class tuition is billed monthly through AutoPay. Tuition is based on enrollment for the month rather than the exact number of class meetings or holidays within that month.

Is AutoPay required?

Yes. AutoPay is required for ongoing class enrollment. Payments are managed through the Parent Portal.

When is tuition charged?

Monthly tuition is generally processed on the first of each month using the payment method saved to your Parent Portal account.

Does tuition become less expensive when taking multiple classes?

Yes. Broadway Arts Studio uses bundled monthly tuition, allowing the per-class cost to decrease as a student enrolls in additional weekly classes.

Because pricing may change, families should review the current Tuition and Policies page before enrolling.

Is there a registration fee?

Yes. An annual registration fee is charged for each enrolled student and renews on the student’s enrollment anniversary.

The current published fees are $75 for the first child and $35 for each additional child. Families returning after a break of more than two months may be required to register again and pay a new registration fee.

Are discounts available?

Discounts may be available for siblings, seniors, and military families on eligible ongoing classes. Restrictions may apply, so please contact the studio or review the current tuition information for details.

Are there additional performance costs?

Depending on the program, families may be responsible for costs beyond tuition, including costumes, shoes, tights, recital fees, production fees, competition expenses, tickets, travel, or required program apparel.

Any known requirements will be communicated before the applicable deadline whenever possible.

What happens if a payment is late?

A late fee may be applied when an account remains unpaid beyond the studio’s stated grace period. Please contact the studio promptly if there is a billing issue.

Are tuition and registration fees refundable?

No. Registration fees and payments for classes, camps, musicals, costumes, recital expenses, tickets, workshops, and related programs are generally nonrefundable.

Changing or Dropping a Class

Changing or Dropping a Class

Can I transfer my student to another class?

When space is available, the team will make every effort to help families transfer into another appropriate class.

Placement in another class is not guaranteed and will depend on age, level, availability, and instructor approval when applicable.

How do I drop a class or take a break?

A written 30-day notice is required before dropping an ongoing class or taking a break. Requests should be emailed to the studio with the student’s name, class, and requested drop date.

Without the required notice, families may be responsible for the following month’s tuition.

Will my child’s place be held during a break?

No. Classes frequently fill, so a student’s previous placement cannot be guaranteed after withdrawing or taking a break.

Students returning after more than two months may also need to register again and pay the applicable registration fee.

Recitals & Showcases

Recitals & Showcases

Do all classes participate in a recital?

Most every class or program follows the same performance schedule. Eligible classes may participate in recitals, showcases, demonstrations, or other studio performances throughout the year.

Participation details will be communicated to enrolled families.

Is recital participation required?

Studio recitals and showcases are highly recommended, but families must opt out in writing by the stated deadline.

Students who opt out may continue participating fully in their regular classes.

What is required if my child participates?

Participating students are expected to maintain good attendance, purchase required costumes and performance items, attend mandatory rehearsals, and participate in all assigned performances.

Will every student be featured and challenged?

We do our best to ensure every child is challenged at the appropriate level.

Roles, featured moments, choreography, formations, and stage time vary by production and class.

Assignments are made based on the needs of the performance and may consider age, readiness, attendance, preparation, teamwork, and the student’s ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
