3rd through 5th-grade students build confidence and make friends in dance and theatre classes that are fun and centered on solid technique.

We offer:

• Leveled training so students are in classes with students of similar ages and skill levels.

• Class syllabi with benchmarks give students a sense of accomplishment and confidence as they master their skills.

BALLET 

We teach Cecchetti Ballet at Broadway Arts Studio

Ballet I (ages 8+)

Perfect for students taking dance for fun or dancers who are serious about their craft, this level I class is beneficial for posture and focus while establishing a strong technical foundation for other forms of dance. Ballet I is the ideal level for third graders transitioning to BAS dance classes for ages 8+.

Ballet II (ages 9+)

Students fourth grade and older with previous ballet training will love dancing barre and center floor combinations that will feed their spirits and strengthen their dance technique.

Ballet III (ages 10+)

Dancers with at least three years of ballet training will plié the night away in this higher-level ballet class. Students grow as dancers while gaining strength, control, and beautiful technique through more challenging barre work and center floor combinations.

Ballet - Open Level Ages 11 & up

This is a great class for advanced beginners to intermediate open-level ballet classes for teens and tweens.  Students grow as dancers while gaining strength, control, and beautiful technique through more challenging barre work and center floor combinations.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Broadway Playhouse (ages 6-9) 

Budding performers will have a blast as they work together to "put on a show" at the end of each month. Students will learn stage presence, simple dance routines, and have miles of fun in the Broadway Playhouse! Your child who loves acting, singing, and dancing will thrive in this class that focuses on dance styles found in Broadway musicals. Students not only learn dance technique, but also work on acting skills and performing with emotion and stage presence.  

MUSICAL THEATRE JAZZ

Musical Theatre Dance I , II and III – (classes for ages 8+)

Any child who loves dancing and being on stage will thrive in this jazz-based class that focuses on dance styles found in Broadway musicals. Students not only learn dance technique but also work on acting skills and performing with emotion and stage presence.

Level I and II musical theatre dance classes focus on different dance styles found on the Broadway stage and other theatrical venues. Musical Theatre Dance I (ages 8+) is the first level offered to third and fourth-grade dancers. Level II is for fourth graders with at least one year of recent musical theatre dance/jazz dance training and fifth-grade students, who might be new to dance.

TAP

Tap I, Ia, and Ib (ages 8+) 

Beginner tappers start with the basics of tap technique and move on to learn fun combinations that develop memory skills, agility, and musical know-how.

Tap II (ages 10+) 

Dancers build on Tap 1 technique, learning rhythmic tap combinations that require weight changes and more intricate footwork.

JAZZ

Jazz I and II  (ages 8+) 

An exciting introduction to the world of classic jazz dance, students will learn proper technique while maintaining age appropriateness in music and style.  Jazz II is open to anyone who has taken at least 1 year of jazz with the foundational proficiencies needed.

HIP-HOP

Hip Hop Fundamentals I, Ia, Ib,  II, III (ages 8+)

Dancers build core strength and learn the fundamentals of Hip Hop including the origins of the various styles including House, Funk, Old School, and more. Dancers are also given the tools to develop their own creative style and voice through freestyle dancing. Like all classes at Broadway Arts Studio, music for hip hop classes is free of suggestive or inappropriate lyrics and choreography is cool, hip, and current while maintaining modesty and integrity. 

Commercial Hip Hop I and II (ages 8-12)  

Move and groove with Hip Hop style in this awesome class that combines technique with dance combinations with a fun, hip hop flare.  Level II classes are open to those who have at least 1 year of hip-hop or jazz and can the foundational proficiencies needed.

RECREATIONAL

Just Dance (ages 6-9) 

A lively class that gets everyone moving! No need for special shoes or equipment. Kids will love learning some short and simple dance combos that are fun, age-appropriate, and tik-tok approved!  Get off the couch and Just Dance!

ACTING CLASSES

On-Camera Acting (ages 8+)

Big dreams of being on TV or the big screen?  Start with this class and learn everything you need to know to get started! 

Intro to Voice Over (ages 8+) 

An introductory class to the art of Voice-over.  Students will learn voice-over audition technique, voicing video games, animation, commercials, and work with a top voice-over artist.

Acting Foundations 1  

Learn acting techniques and sharpen your performance skills in this acting class for young performers. Mixed levels. Actors will work at their own levels. Throughout the year students will explore character development, monologues, scene-work, cold-reads, improv, commercial, and on-camera.

Acting Foundations 2 

Learn acting techniques and sharpen your performance skills in this acting class for young performers. Mixed levels. Actors will work at their own levels. Throughout the year students will explore monologues, scene-work, cold-reads, improv, commercial, and on-camera.  Script analysis and character discovery take this class to the next level for 9-11 year-olds.

Improv 

Learn to love improv in this popular and super fun class where imagination rules and courage takes root.
